SAFETY PROMISE
Remote help is only safe if you are in control.
Tech-support scams are common, so here is exactly how we work. If anyone ever contacts you claiming to be Stratum Tech Repair and does not match this page, hang up and contact us yourself.
You always contact us first
We never call, email or pop up on your screen unprompted. If someone claiming to be us contacts you first, it is not us.
No rush
You book a time, and nothing happens until you are ready.
No pre-payment, no passwords
We never ask for your passwords, banking details, or payment by gift card, crypto or wire. You type your own passwords. You pay after it is fixed.
Nothing to download on Windows
We use Microsoft Quick Assist, which is built into Windows 10 and 11. We read you a 6-digit code to start. For Macs and phones we guide you through a Zoom or FaceTime screen share.
Always attended
You watch everything we do and can end the session in one click. We never have unattended access to a home computer.
What a remote session looks like
- You book a time or ask us to text you.
- We have a quick phone or video call first.
- On your private status page you see who is helping you and agree to the session.
- We read you a Quick Assist code, and you watch everything.
- You get a written summary of what we did, and you pay after it is fixed. If remote help does not fix it, the bill is $0.
