Good questions
Before you ask.
Is the Scam Check really free?
Yes. There is no account and no catch, and nobody will contact you because you used it. It is a free safety helper from Stratum Tech Group, a local tech-help business in Katy, TX.
Do you keep what I paste?
No. We check it and then let it go; it is not saved or linked to you. To answer, the text (with phone numbers and the names in email addresses taken out) and any screenshot may be read by our AI provider, which does not use it to train AI. Please leave out passwords, codes and card numbers.
Can the check be wrong?
Yes. It looks for the signs most scams share, but a new scam can look ordinary and a real message can look odd, so it never confirms that something is safe. When unsure, contact the company using a number you already trust, like the one on your card or their official website.
What if I already paid or let someone into my computer?
Stop replying, turn off the computer's Wi-Fi or unplug its cable, and call your bank using the number on the back of your card. You can report it at reportfraud.ftc.gov. If you like, we can check your computer and remove anything left behind, and you pay after it is fixed.
